What are you going to cover?

If you enjoy the free writing tips I share weekly via my podcast and Facebook group, you’ll love the Let’s Get Started Writing Workshop. It takes everything to the next level.

You'll get even more support, encouragement, and step-by-step guidance to create a writing habit that gives you confidence with your own skills and throughout the writing process.

Here’s a peek at what you'll get cover in just 2 hours:

  • How to feel excited and fearless when writing, from start to finish
  • How to have the confidence to dive into any type of writing, including personal, creative, and professional
  • How to identify all the writing ideas already within you
  • How to embrace the “madman” within so your creativity and thoughts flow freely
  • What steps to take (and in which order) throughout the revision process
  • How to shut down that “I can’t write” thought monster and recognize your own potential

And of course there are bonuses!

  • In-session writing practice
  • A reusable workbook with pre-written notes, so you can focus more in the moment
  • Open Q&A sessions
  • List of writing ideas applicable to your own life, either for journaling or creative writing

How does LGS work?

The LGS Workshop is held virtually via Zoom for 2 hours.

You’ll also get a writing poster and workbook complete with the major lessons and exercises, so you can take notes and start applying what you learn.

After each session, you have the option to unmute, share your thoughts, and ask questions. This is a safe, judgment-free zone and a great chance to connect with other writers.

And you’ll hear success stories about writers like you who found confidence in their ideas and words:

  • Like Emily, who used to dream of writing personal essays but hated everything she used to write
  • Or Michelle, who attended this workshop because other people had always said her social media posts were funny, and now she’s releasing her first novel.
  • Or Suzi, who used to absolutely love writing but hadn't written creatively in a long time and was frightened she'd lost her ability to create a full story
  • Or me, who have postponed picking up a pen for 6 years until I felt like an empty shell

What if I can't attend that day?

No problem. Each time I offer the workshop, I change the day of the week and time, so we can work this out.

Just let me know you want to join the workshop and when you’re usually available, and I’ll make a note to notify you about the next date. You can also sign up for my newsletter so you'll know ahead of time what I'm planning.

Is there a replay?

Yes, the workshop is recorded via Zoom.

If your plans change and you can't attend live, you will have 30 days to access the replay.

What if I don’t have any writing skills?

What? Of course you do. Really!

This workshop will help you uncover your hidden writing skills, and—should you wish to share your voice someday—you’ll uncover the stories already within you that other people need.

We’ll cover different types of writing, what might appeal to you, and how you can experiment and have fun.

And, surprise, you’ll use what you learn here for all those different types of writing! This method is perfect for personal, creative, and professional writing!

You have something to offer. Your writing is important.

What if I don’t want to be a professional or published writer?

Writing isn’t just for the professionals or those who want to publish. It’s about finding your inner voice and being true to yourself.

Creating a writing habit can be just for you. Discovering what to write about can be just for you. Knowing how to let that creative energy flow onto a page can be just for you. And knowing how to refine and edit your work will help improve your writing for all purposes.

The writing skills you’ll gain from this quick workshop have endless uses, from responding to emails, to journaling prompts, to writing personal stories that you’d like to pass down to your kids, to writing a novel, to creating professional presentations.

Having these writing skills will empower you with confidence, and you’ll never fear “getting started” again.

What if I've never tried writing before or haven't written in a really long time?

No problem!

This workshop is all about getting started! This is also a great way to dust off your pen, stretch your fingers, and jump back in.

Sometimes it takes someone from the outside to let you know what you can do. Sometimes we need others to help spark our belief in ourselves again.
